The dynamics of cross-cultural business combined with the complexity of international e-commerce is what drives Martijn’s career.
Joining the International Parcels division of PostNL back in 2012 was therefore a natural route for the young executive, who quickly developed talents and expertise for e-commerce logistics. Embracing challenges whenever they occur, Martijn took on the head of sales for the Nordics and the US e-commerce markets for PostNL, before focusing on the e-commerce flow coming from the massive market that is China. Together with his team, he went far beyond targets by developing a strong Chinese network and driving a tremendous growth in business. Martijn’s experience on the Chinese e-commerce segment includes DDP solutions.
Building up confidence and knowledge, Martijn took some time in 2017 to co-found his own online food delivery company, which he sold before joining ViaEurope as Chief Commercial Officer. His new role includes defining and executing ViaEurope’s commercial strategy, accelerating business development and growth.
ViaEurope is an e-logistics company based in Amsterdam, which provides e-tailers with a unique tech-based solution for global e-commerce. ViaEurope solution allows any partner in the world to provide a seamless e-commerce experience within the European Union to their customers.
Martijn holds a masters degree in Process Technology and Business, He currently lives in Utrecht, the Netherlands, together with his wife and 3 children. His passion for skiing equals his enthusiasm for good food and tennis.
