Important Update for WMX Asia 2019

As you will probably be aware, the recent demonstrations in Hong Kong have been taking place for over 5 months and are most likely set to continue over the coming weeks, coinciding with the World Mail & Express Asia Conference in Hong Kong on 15-17 September 2019.

We have been monitoring the situation very closely and at the advice of government agencies and representatives on the ground, we are continuing with the conference as planned. The great majority of demonstrations take place outside of business hours and therefore the impact on the conference activity should be minimised.

We understand the unease surrounding events in Hong Kong, and the safety of our clients is of utmost importance. We do have a contingency plan in place to move the event to a different location if the situation escalates further. However, as both International Airlines and Foreign Offices deem it safe to travel to Hong Kong, the event will go ahead in Hong Kong on the 15-17 September unless otherwise stated.

We have recently added senior representatives of FedEx, SF Express, YTO Express, 4PX, Oman Post, ECMS Express, STO Express and more to an already stellar speaker line up. The programme is shaping up to be one of our strongest in many years and we are sure despite wider uncertainty, the event will prove a resounding success and an excellent networking opportunity.

We are also delighted to announce the addition of a new sponsor for the event, One World Express who are now operating in Hong Kong. One World’s Group CEO, Atul Bhakta commented:

“I am delighted to become one of the sponsors for the upcoming World Mail and Express Asia Conference to be held in Hong Kong. Whilst there is some unrest and protests going on in Hong Kong, it is very much business as usual with a cautious approach during this sensitive time.

From our perspective Hong Kong remains a key gateway for Cross border eCommerce in and out of China. We have a highly respected presence in the region and sponsoring this conference allows our brand to be displayed and associated with a highly prestigious event, an event that we have proudly sponsored for the last 6 years.

If you want to do business in Asia, particularly in China, you must enjoy a few drinks with your partners and business associates! Keeping this in mind One World Express is extremely pleased to sponsor the drinks reception and we hope to see you all for a few drinks before we go back home with some great new friendships and new business opportunities that will lead to fruitful relationships for the future.”
